Thirsty Thursday  Ocean Water

Since it is Outrageous Ocean Week at The SplashDeck, what better way to celebrate Thirsty Thursday than by toasting with a refreshing glass of Ocean Water. No, not the salty, murky stuff….this recipe mimics that delicious beverage that’s available at Sonic Drive-ins.   However, since adults probably would enjoy a frosty glass of something ocean themed, we have a second recipe for Ocean Water as well. This one is rated “adults only”.  Whichever Thirsty Thursday Ocean Water recipe you choose, cheers to the ocean, the beach, the sand and anything else you can think of!!

Ocean Water for kids

Ingredients:

3 Tbs water

3 Tbs sugar

1 tsp coconut extract

2 drops blue food coloring

2-12 oz cans Sprite, 7-up or Fresca

Combine the water and sugar and microwave for 30-40- seconds. Let cool. Add the food coloring and the Sprite. Pour over generous amounts of crushed ice.  Serves 2.

Ocean Water for adults

Ingredients:

2 oz Malibu rum

3/4 oz blue caracao

8 oz Sprite, 7-up or Fresca

Mix all ingredients and pour over crushed ice. Enjoy!!!
