How about a Peanut Butter Blast?

You say peanut butter……I’m totally there. I love peanut butter anything and most kids do, too. Since many of our drink recipes for Thirsty Thursday have alcohol in them, I thought it would be a nice change to add a drink for the kids. However, adults will like it just as much! This sounds delicious and with it’s ingredients, it sure could fill up a kid who’s hungry after a long afternoon of swimming and playing.  The Peanut Butter Blast can be made as noted or you can make some extra-delicious additions to it to really boost it to the next level. So, what do you say, how about a Peanut Butter Blast?

This milk shake is a refreshing treat, but it also offers protein, calcium, B vitamins, potassium, and a subtle dose of peanut butter flavor.

The Peanut Butter Blast

1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey

3-4 scoops vanilla ice cream

1/4 cup milk (or vanilla soymilk)

For each shake, mix the milk, peanut butter and maple syrup/honey in a blender for several seconds, until smooth. Add the ice cream and pulse until just combined. Makes one 12-ounce shake.

Variations:

Chop one peanut butter cup and stir into shake. (why stop at one?)

Chop a few fresh strawberries and stir in for a peanut butter & jelly effect.

Chop a banana and add it in for the blending process.

Put a dollop of whipped topping on top, drizzle with chocolate syrup and sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
