Quick & Easy Pool Parties
I don’t know about you, but here in the south, it’s HOT HOT HOT! What better way to escape the heat, than a good old fashioned pool party? Now, I know you’re thinking “Gee Sarah, that’s a lot of work!” But, it doesn’t have to be! All you need is friends, and fun! A little lemonade never hurt either…
I typically plan a day in advance, or same day, for simple pool parties. We always have between 3 and 5 neighbor kids, and school friends show up, so I like to make sure I do have some snacks ready. Honestly, you don’t have to spend a ton of money, or bother being fancy. Kids love to have fun, and they aren’t there to critique your snacks!
Here are my favorite quick snacks for pool days:
Home made popsicles
Ants on a log
Veggie trays
Fruit trays
Frozen bananas on a stick
Frozen grapes
Ice cold lemonade
Once you have your snacks figured out, the fun is all you need, and that’s the easiest part! I always have a portable speaker handy, and sync my phone to it. Pandora or spotify are great for fun, pop music! We also keep a large bucket with handles out on the pool deck, every summer we add a few new pool toys to it. There’s always enough goggles, water guns, noodles, and kickboards for everyone! This summer, we added some really fun new pool toys from ToySplash.com
Our newest addition are the Swimline; Hotdog Battle – Inflatable Floats. These are awesome! My kids are having a blast with these floats. They hold up really well, and provide an amazingly fun outlet for summer fun. The package includes 2 hot dogs, and 1 ketchup & mustard. You can use them solo, or together for an epic “food fight”! However you choose to use these floats, they’re fast, easy, pool fun!
Now you know my secrets for quick pool party success, are there any fun & creative ways you make your pool time fun?
